Hi. I’m Neil and welcome. I hope you come back often and bring some friends so we can mull over, fight, and make fun of ourselves for taking this life so seriously.
I’m a writer working on my fifth or sixth, “first novel” and some short stories. My preferred genre is urban fantasy. I’m also gathering material for a short non fiction book on Unexplained Fortean Phenomenon–basically the paranormal. But this blog’s topics are nonfictional.
My blog is about governing and policy from a Progressive point of view. The issues I care about most democracy, stopping gun violence, equality and equal protection under the law for marginalized groups.
Also, dear to my heart is our ability to publish and read what we want is in danger. Books that don’t meet some of a largely white christo/fascist purity tests and challenge institutional racism are being banned all over our nation. Book banners are particularly attacking LGBTQ+ literature, and school text books that don’t conform to their revisionist historical fiction.
And and all, my friends, this is plain wrong. I’ll have much more to say about that on coming posts.
I hope to give you a good selection of content to get you thinking, conversing and motivate you to raise your voice.
It’s time for us to use our voices before they are silenced.
