Election 2024: The Lies

What This Page Is About

This page will document the worst lies or the radical right as they attempt to establish a one party government in the coming election. It will be a compilation of the underhanded attempts to destroy our democracy gathered in a chronological order without a need to search for incidents separately.

July 27, 2023: Lies of Christian Nationalist leaders to their congregations in an attempt to turn the US into a theocracy based on Biblical law.

In my mind, election 2024 is the most important election so far since the formation of the United States. A highly motivated extreme right-wing set of voters, politicians, strategists, think tanks, and wealthy doners are set on making an unprecedented power grab to establish a one party government in this county. They want to turn our representative republic into a fascist-theocracy based not on constitutional law, but Biblical law.

Evangelicals and Christian Nationalist leaders lie to their congregations saying things like the Bill of Rights is based on the ten commandments. They further claim you can put the two documents side by side and see how the founders copied the concepts of the commandments into the Bill of Rights.

“Go ahead and see for yourself,” these leaders claim, fully knowing their congregants won’t.

Well, I have and it’s bullshit. There is no amendment in the bill of rights that says “Thou shall have no other God before me.” In fact, the first amendment’s establishment call erects a wall between church and state declaring that the United States will not establish an official religion, or prohibit the free exercise thereof. A Christian theocracy is unconstitutional as it would establish a national religion and prevent other forms of worship.

The First Amendment of the US Constitutions

Religious liberty is the freedom to practice any or no religion as a citizen may desire. It is not, as theocratic forces claim, the freedom to replace constitutional law with biblical law. Such an act would mean the end of the US as a beacon of religious freedom.

Knowledge gives one the power to identify the lies of the extreme right. I encourage you to read the Bill of Rights and the Ten Commandments, both listed below and see for your self the lies of Christian Nationalism.

Original Ten Amendments: The Bill of Rights

Passed by Congress September 25, 1789.
Ratified December 15, 1791.

Amendment VI: Right to a fair trial

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed; which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

Amendment VII: Rights in civil cases

Amendment IX: Rights retained by the People

Amendment X: States’ rights

Now read the Ten Commandments:

As you can see by comparison, Christian Nationalist leaders are lying to their flocks to establish a nation based on Biblical law. A model of government the Founders were definitely against.

This page will document the lies of the right, not just religious lies, but the outrageous, bombastic claims and made up controversies of the right-wing as the 2024 electoral season ramps up.
